Immel2 - New Perspectives

For their upcoming show at Wilder Nightingale Fine Art, owner Rob Nightingale, painter Peggy Immel and photographer Steve Immel chose the name “Immel²” and the subtitle “New Perspectives.”

The subtitle New Perspectives reflects the artists' desire to depict New Mexico and the Southwest from different points of view for their fourth two-person show at the gallery. This includes a departure from the horizontal format they have long favored to the square format which they believe lends intimacy to familiar subjects. It is also a distinctively contemporary presentation. Changing the aspect ratio creates a sort of puzzle that brings energy to the creative process. The subtitle “New Perspectives” allows them to honor their adopted state and the greater Southwest from fresh angles and new vantage points. While the couple work in different media their strengths in composition, values and design lend cohesion to their artwork.

Exhibition opens noon to 5pm on Saturday, May 29th and continues through June 20, 2021.
