Cody is a ceramic artist and photographer from Missoula MT. His non-objective works are in direct response to the opioid crisis.
The artist on his work: "I've started using rope and string of different types in my work. This idea excites me.I a working on non-objective sculpture with nylon cord, steel cable, latex paint and colored marine-epoxy elements. I have been busy in the studio testing underglazes and different oxide washes.
"My work is changing as I have begun to work at Taos Clay. I've started to "cold finish" my work which includes painting with acrylics, flocking, and other treatments applied to the surface post firing. Landscape has always been a big motivation behind my work. The landscape of New Mexico has driven me to create pinched and elevated forms."
Opening reception June 7, 5-8pm.
