After Dark 8 is a show celebrating darkness and the varied reactions emblematic to this subject matter…nighttime, dark humor, dark fantasies, dark matter, etc. Greg Moon Art of Taos hosts this national show in March. The show will run March 23rd – April 13th with an opening reception on the 23rd. Entries are being accepted in painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, mixed media, fiber arts, glass, digital printed media, and assemblage.
2019 jurors are:
Isabel Samaras- Artist, Pop-Surrealism Icon
Isabel is a painter who creates works in a classical vein combined with pop-cultural mash-ups. Witty and incisive, these works deal with love, longing, and the human compulsion to make everything come out just so.
Janet Webb- Designer, Curator, Art Maven
Janet has been a driving force in the Taos art scene for decades. Her latest curatorial adventure, “Women and Their Work” at the Harwood Museum of Art, was a in-depth survey of the female artists who have graced Taos with their creative genius.
Greg Moon – Artist, Curator, Owner of Greg Moon Art
Greg has worked in the commercial gallery scene for 36 years, 28 of those years in Taos and Santa Fe. His space focuses on works of the contemporary vein with an emphasis on fine art in the “old school” mediums of painting, photography, printmaking, mixed media, sculpture, and assemblage. His annual Lowbrow shows led to his co-curating “Orale’: Kings and Queens of Cool” at Taos’ Harwood Museum of Art. The show was a in-depth survey of Lowbrow and Pop-Surrealist artists in the U.S.
The show is open to all US based artists 18 yrs. and older.
