State of the Arts in Taos is the theme for the arts forum on Saturday, March 24, from 9:30am-4:00pm
in the Mural Room. A free event presented by Taos Arts Council.
Featured sessions, panel presentations, discussion and Q&A, are:
9:30am-10:30am “Government Support of the Arts” with speakers Karina Armijo, Director of Marketing and Tourism and Rick Bellis, Town Manager, Town of Taos, from Taos County Lodger's Tax Fund, Valerie Montoya and Jenice Gharib, Grants Program & Policy Director of NMArts.
10:45-11:45am “Arts Education in the Schools” with presentations on artists in the schools by Tanya Vigil, Invent Event by Nikki Ross of Twirl and more.
1:30-2:30pm “How to Find Grants that fit Your Organization” featuring Helen Forte of Taos Community Foundation, Juniper Manley of Taos Land Trust and Bill Whaley.
2:45pm-3:45pm “Taos Arts Residencies: Then and Now”, a roundtable featuring representatives Cecelia Cuff of Parse Seco, Anna Novakov of Freehold Taos and Peggy Chung of Herekeke.
